CACEIS is making a significant international expansion with the establishment of a full-service office in Stockholm. The branch is now operational, with full client activity commencing on 1st July 2026, this move underscores the group’s commitment to the Nordic region as a pivotal market. The Swedish office represents a critical step in CACEIS’ ambition to be the leading provider in Europe, complementing its existing network across Europe, Canada, and Malaysia to deliver seamless global coverage.
A Strategic Hub for the Nordic Region
The decision to establish a full-capability office in Stockholm is driven by a clear strategic imperative. The Nordics constitute a key region for CACEIS, and a physical, on-the-ground presence is fundamental to deepening client relationships and enhancing service delivery. The office will act as a dedicated hub for the entire region, facilitating business not only in Sweden but also providing enhanced support and proximity to clients in Denmark, Finland and Norway. This offers distinct geographic and cultural advantages over servicing the Nordics from continental European bases.
The office is headed by Country Managing Director in Sweden, Henrik Reinfeldt, and located at the premier business address Jakobsbergsgatan 24 - right at the heart of Stockholm’s financial centre. CACEIS shares these premises with sister companies Amundi and Crédit Agricole CIB, a co-location that fosters business synergies, enabling a broader service offering that includes facilities such as bridging loans. Crucially, the Stockholm office is a full branch, not a representative office, offering the same complete suite of services as available through other European branches.
As CACEIS Deputy CEO, Joe Saliba notes, the expansion is a logical and powerful progression for the group: “Establishing a full-service presence in Stockholm is a natural and essential step in our European strategy. The office will be fully integrated into CACEIS’ global operating model, leveraging the ‘Follow the Sun – Data Anytime, Anywhere’ framework. Henrik Reinfeldt adds, “While our office will provide comprehensive, on-the-ground support for all services, it will coordinate closely with the group’s global centres of excellence. This ensures our Nordic clients benefit from both local expertise and robust servicing that leverages CACEIS’ international network.”
A key advantage will be having local professionals in client-facing roles, with local leadership and dedicated relationship management teams. As Henrik Reinfeldt will ensure Nordic client perspectives inform the group’s global strategy, alongside hybrid compliance, risk and control staff and sales personnel. This local team will not only support Nordic clients but will also support international asset managers seeking to distribute products into the Swedish and broader Nordic markets.
Raising the Servicing Bar and Introducing Innovation
CACEIS’ entry raises the competitive bar for servicing in the local market, which is currently served by a limited number of large depositary banks and various smaller non-bank players. The group’s presence enriches the market, elevating value propositions and expectations for all participants.
