Internal mobility for broader career horizons: Guillaume Le Devehat shares his story

Each year, CACEIS invites employees to enjoy one of its Moov Days, a day-long forum all about internal mobility. It focuses on ways to break out of routine, take on a new role or even arrange a move abroad.

Guillaume Le Devahat is in a series of personal stories. He is account specialist in Munich.

Guillaume has worked since 2006 for the Crédit Agricole group in Germany, first in Frankfurt for Crédit Agricole CIB, then, since February 2017, as an account specialist for CACEIS in Munich.

Can you describe your professional journey at the Crédit Agricole group?

After studying in France, I wanted an international experience. I looked for a post in a French company abroad and found an opening as a management controller at Crédit Agricole CIB in Frankfurt through VIE*. When I arrived, I spoke a little bit of German, but I mainly learned by interacting with colleagues and German friends. I was then hired on a long-term contract and wound up staying at Crédit Agricole CIB for ten years.

In 2015, I began looking for mobility opportunities. I looked for a finance-related post somewhere within the Crédit Agricole group, in France or abroad. I learned about openings at CACEIS because, at the time, the company had offices at the Crédit Agricole CIB facilities in Frankfurt. Since having an experience in another Crédit Agricole group entity in Germany made sense in terms of my career, as a chance to expand my knowledge of the group, I applied to CACEIS in Munich.

Are you satisfied with your mobility?

Yes, at Crédit Agricole CIB, I first held jobs in management control, preparation of financial statements, and regulatory reporting, but also transverse and international project management. I became deputy head of the finance department at Crédit Agricole CIB Germany. In that position, I also helped implementing a new method of process optimization (lean management).

Since I started at CACEIS, I have been using the skills I acquired at Crédit Agricole CIB while working on new topics. I am working as an accounting specialist. Among other tasks, I work on preparation of financial statements and liquidity ratios and assist with projects helping regulatory reporting move forward.
